I liked this one a lot better than [b:The White Queen|5971165|The White Queen (The Cousins' War, #1)|Philippa Gregory|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406950364s/5971165.jpg|13560666]. Even though the story covered was essentially the same, only told by a different point of view, I thought this one was curiously refreshing.
Margaret Beaufort, despite being characterized as such a dislikable person in this book, was a much better character than Elizabeth Woodville in the first. I thought she was much better written, with clearer development and LOTS more consistency.
The style of the writing was a lot less repetitive than the first, but Philippa Gregory still tried too hard to create dramatic buildup in some occasions. Thankfully, there weren't many of them.
